Busy week. I’m trying to catch up on my spinning and wooly balls from last weekend at market. This is a good thing but it does mean that other things get left to do later. I just got back from our new co-op grocery store. I have a few things on consignment there. I am so happy to be involved with them. I’ve been volunteering some time there as well helping them get shelves ready. Shelves are now stocked and it looks great. Tomorrow is the soft opening for members. I’m very excited to have the organic and local food available so close to me. I can’t wait.
I’m working on spinning more cotton. I need some cotton yarn myself to make some wash cloths. They are wonderfully soft and make you feel like you are at a spa. I need some for market and I need some for Christmas presents. I’m realizing just how close that holiday is. Anyone else realizing this yet? It is coming and I’m running out of time. I try to make most of my gifts so I have to start early.
That is one really fun part of hand spun yarn. I spin the yarn and then when I make a scarf or a hat it is fun to tell people where that wool came from. Plus I love the funky textures you can get with hand spun yarn. You never know exactly how it will turn out because every piece is unique. I love it! This reminds me that I need to dig out some of my stuff for market that I’ve made with my yarn. I had forgotten about the hat I made my son last year.
I’m off since my little break needs to be over. I’d better dig the hat out before I forget again and I have a ton of canning to prepare for.
