I do apologize as I keep forgetting to bring my real camera so these are cell phone pictures. This is my little yarn booth where I get to have so much fun. The crocheted runner along the front of my table was made by my great-grandmother. I’m so happy I can put some of her stuff to use. Funny story with her crochet work. Apparently she used to call her needlework her “cigarette” for after dinner. Then when she was about 60 she took up smoking and quit doing the needlework. I found that on a note from my grandmother in amongst the table runners, table cloths, and doilies that had been crocheted by my great-grandmother. A little treasure to me. Both the story and the note in my grandmother’s handwriting. She had such beautiful cursive.

About littlehawkyarns

I'm a gardener that is trying to provide good food for my family to enjoy. I have two children, two dogs, a husband, four chickens, and four cats. In addition gardening I enjoy handwork such as knitting, crochet, and sewing. I'm in the process of trying to learn tatting and embroidery as well. I am soon adding more critters to the collection since we just got property and I spin yarn.

That’s a lovely table runner. To bad she quit to start smoking. How unusual. Wonder if anyone would do that today?
